NFL Football Preseason Continues, More Major League Baseball for Sports Betting

After last night’s opening set of NFL games giving sports fans the first possible taste of online sports betting on NFL Football, Friday night follows up with another round of 5 NFL preseason games, giving sports fans even more great options for sportsbook wagering, in addition to the usual bevy of Major League Baseball games lined up today. Though NFL Football is still weeks away before the start of regular season play, and the teams lining up this week and throughout the preseason will consist mainly of new players and rookies trying to make the cut and learn their teams’ plays, seeing a couple NFL games available for online sportsbook betting brings a spot of joy to just about any Football fan, or anyone in general that enjoys a bit of diversity from the neverending flow of Major League Baseball wagering options at the top online sportsbooks. After getting very lucky for NFL wagers on last nights’ games (especially as Seattle pulled away in the second half after a dismal first half performance to seal an underdog victory), I’m back to betting on sports for the NFL preseason on Friday, taking a look at all the available options for wagering at one of the top sportsbooks reviewed on our website. For today, Oddsmaker Sportsbook gets the call for featured NFL preseason wagers, as it offers a full line of options from the points spread, money line and over/under total points that you could expect during a normal week of NFL Football’s regulars season.

NFL Football games to check out include the Cincinnati Bengals at the Detroit Lions, with the Lions getting a 3.5-point advantage at home. While the Lions looked to have improved their lot this season with a few good draft picks (minus one unfortunately for the year as RB Mikel Leshoure tore an Achillies’), the Bengals are likely a bottom-table finisher this season, as they’ll break in Andy Dalton in place of the retired Carson Palmer, and likely play perpetual back-up QB Bruce Gradkowski quite a bit this evening. I like the Lions to cover the points tonight at home, as they feel like the team coming off a better offseason with less injuries and more hope of an improved season ahead. Next up, we head south for a look at the Atlanta Falcons hosting the Miami Dolphins, with Atlanta just a 2.5 point favorite, and -130 to win at home. Miami seems a turnstile for back-up QBs, as Chad Henne continues to get criticism from Miami fans, and Matt Moore and Kevin O’Connell certainly aren’t any answer. Meanwhile Atlanta holds the most potent offenses in the NFC South, adding in some interesting rookies in Jacquizz Rogers at running back and Julio Jones at wide out. There’s lots of QBs in the mix tonight’s game, so I lean towards the ground attack to be the difference maker in tonights’ game, with Atlanta clearly holding the advantage in that category. Make sure to ponder over the other fun offerings for NFL preseason football tonight, as the Washington Redskins host the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Kansas City Chiefs bring in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the San Francisco 49ers head to New Orleans to meet with the Saints.

With NFL preseason games looked over and wagered on tonight, I turn to a host of MLB Baseball games for Friday, featuring a number of new weekend series set to get underway shortly. Key match-ups to look for include the Tampa Bay Rays at New York Yankees in an AL East division battle, the Cleveland Indians hosting the Minnesota Twins (Justin Masterson looks primed for a bounce back performance against Carl Pavano at home), and the Los Angeles Angels at Toronto Blue Jays with the Angels looking to keep pace with the Texas Rangers in the AL West. Follow a couple of winning streaks as well as the Atlanta Braves seek a 5th win in a row at home against the Chicago Cubs, Tampa tries to do the same as David Price seeks to better C.C. Sabathia, and the Arizona Diamondbacks look to stay hot at home against the New York Mets with a 4th straight win while keeping their newly found 1st place record in the NL West intact. However you choose to wager today, make sure that you get in at one of the top sportsbooks reviewed here for your fill of bets on NFL Preseason and Major League Baseball games ahead.
