NFL Preseason Games, 10 Major League Baseball Games Featured for Thursday

The week has gone by with relative ease, and the excitement of betting on sports now grows with each passing day as sports fans will be treated to another round of NFL Preseason games tonight and through the weekend, featuring a handful of teams primed for contention in the playoffs later this year. Taking a good, hard look at the first week of NFL preseason play has been a lot of fun already this year, as there is plenty to learn from both the starting squads, as well as the backups as players fight for starting positions, as well as the general make-up and health of teams around the league. With only a few weeks before the official start of the season, get into the NFL action right now with a couple small wagers on the two games slated for tonight as the New England Patriots head south to meet the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Philadelphia Eagles in a great in-state clash. Add the usual dose of Major League Baseball games to the list of available betting options today and you’ve got a good reason to head to one of the top sports betting websites and find your best bets for the competition this evening.

With 10 games in Major League Baseball today and tonight, there are plenty of great chances to cash in at the top sportsbook at, which I’m paying a visit to this afternoon in the hopes of picking a couple winning wagers. Starting with the wagering options across the American League, the Chicago White Sox will try to regroup from a tough loss to the Cleveland Indians last night, which saw Fausto Carmona pitch a 4-hit 8 1/3 inning gem to lead the Tribe to a 4-1 win against Mark Buehrle. Cleveland will look to Justin Masterson (9-7, 2.69) to help keep them above Chicago in the AL Central, as he faces Phillip Humber (8-8, 3.67 ERA). Masterson and the Indians are a surprising +150 underdog for the game today, despite his 1.23 ERA against the ChiSox in 22 innings of work this year, so for risk takers this could work out to be a solid betting option taking the Indians to win. Josh Beckett (9-5, 2.40 ERA) hits the mound today for the Boston Red Sox, who open a series at Kansas City and try to avoid a 3-game losing streak, and with Beckett getting -120 odds, counting on him to bounce back from a rare bad start last week could also be a worthy bet to check out today as well. Make note of C.C. Sabathia making a start today in Minnesota against the Twins (he’s lost two in a row, another rebound performance here seems inevitable), Jered Weaver being the Los Angeles Angels’ last hope to save face against the surging Texas Rangers who’ve won 6 straight and could sweep the 4-game series against their AL West rivals, and a catch a great pitching duel in the Bay Area between Trevor Cahill and Ricky Romero as Oakland hosts Toronto.

Moving over to the National League options for betting on sports at the best sportsbooks, Philadelphia and Arizona meet in a rubber match of a 3-game series between the two divisional leaders. Ian Kennedy (15-3, 3.12 ERA) shoots for a NL-best 16th win this year and an 8th win in a row, while his opponent Vance Worley (8-1, 2.85) also rides a 7-game winning streak into tonight’s showdown. Something has to give, and I’m betting it’s Philadelphia tonight, who gave Kennedy his only career shutout this season on April 25th. Take a look at the Atlanta Braves vs. San Francisco Giants match-up as Tim Lincecum (11-9, 2.58 ERA) hits the mound against Mike Minor (2-2, 4.84 ERA), the Dodgers vs. the perpetually-hot Brewers, and the Washington Nationals vs. Cincinnati Reds for some of the best games in the MLB for top sportsbook betting. If you haven’t gotten your wagers placed yet today, head on over to or any one of the best online sportsbooks reviewed here, check out the NFL Preseason line-up as well as the bevy of Major League Baseball games and get in on all the excitement of betting on sports!
