NCAA Basketball, NHL Hockey top Sportsbook Betting Options

As the NCAA Basketball season starts anew for 2011, the continuation of the 2011 2K Coaches vs. Cancer Classic is a great opportunity to test some teaser wagers on College Hoops, before the mad rush of 126 games gets underway this Friday. As always, the beginning of any new sports season is an exciting time for sports betting fans, and with College Basketball especially, one of the best and most active sports seasons is now upon us officially, and it’s time to start picking out some good looking betting lines for NCAA Basketball action at the best online sportsbooks reviewed here. With 4 more tournament games scheduled for tomorrow’s action including two match-ups featuring preseason Top 25 teams, there’s no doubt a few parlay wagers are in order on basketball,¬† and sportsbook betting action is at ¬† Sportsbook today, in a repeat visit for one of the best online sportsbooks reviewed here all-time. With a little taste of NCAA basketball, paired with a solid offering of NHL Hockey choices, and a tiny sprinkling of NCAA football in MAC Conference competition, betting on sports tonight will be a quick, but interesting challenge, and wagering on NCAA Basketball for the first time in the new season remains tops on the list for Tuesday night.

For NCAA Basketball bets to kick off the day, the sportsbook is actually one of the few offering lines on the tournament games this afternoon, thus for betting on sports bets on the website centers on the #16  Arizona Wildcats vs. the Duquesne Dukes, with Arizona building on a win last night at home against Valparaiso, 73-64. Getting another cushion against a rebuilding team tomorrow tonight at home, Arizona should show better form than last night, where the Wildcats coughed up a once-20 point lead to win by 9. With Duquesne picked to finish 9th in the mid-level A-10 conference, Arizona looks primed to cover 8.5 points on the spread, and give their young freshman squad a chance to mesh together on home court. The second worthwhile NCAA Basketball match-up features the #19 Texas A&M Aggies at College Station, TX against Liberty, with a more stretched out points spread at 18.5 favoring the Aggies, and despite a wide margin to cover for the first game of the year, I expect A&M to mesh well from the get-go, fresh off a European preseason road trip, and returning 3 quality starters from last season (where they were bumped in the second round of the tournament by Florida). Look for the Aggies to make the NCAA Tournament for an impressive seventh consecutive season, and start that bid with a big win at home tomorrow.

For NHL Hockey wagers at today, I’m rooting for the Los Angeles Kings to come out of their recent six-game losing streak tonight against the Nashville Predators, in what should be a defensive-minded game between two of the best goaltenders in the league. Pekka Rinne, fresh off a new contract with Nashville looks primed to improve from his last two outings against the Kings, where he posted his worst goals allowed average against any Western Conference opponent last season. With the Kings struggling to get goal scoring however, tonight’s contest may show a different side of Rinne against the top lines of the less-confident Kings, as is evident in the bookmaker’s over/under at 5 goals. Back-up goalie Jonathan Bernier looks likely to get a start against Nashville, due to his solid numbers against them last season (3-1, 2.25 goals against), so I’ll put the rare blind faith in a slumping team to pull out tonight, and go with the Kings 2-1 over the Predators this evening. In other NHL Hockey action for online sportsbook bets, check out the Buffalo Sabres to be a good bet at home against the Winnipeg Jets, a battle between two of the NHL’s top teams as the Dallas Stars take on the Washington Capitals, and the Colorado Avalanche get back on the road where they’ve been so good, but run into the Detroit Red Wings who are anxious to break out of an underperforming start. To close options for betting on sports today at, get a look at the NCAA Football match-ups slated this evening, as more MAC Conference action provides the only wagering choices for College Football during the early week. Check out more great sports betting ahead at the top online sportsbooks reviewed here with NFL Football Thursday action returning as the San Diego Chargers take on the Oakland Raiders in an AFC West showdown, NCAA Football showing a Top 25 match-up between #21 Georgia Tech and #10 Virginia Tech, and exponentially more options for NCAA Basketball ahead on Friday.
