New Week, New Sports Action Featuring NBA, NCAA Basketball

As we bid a fond farewell to another great weekend packed with great sports action and top online sports betting wagers, Monday starts yet another new chapter in sports and online sports betting excitement once again, as the NCAA conference championships play out and Selection Sunday for the NCAA Tournament looms only days away! With 4 smaller conference championships wrapping up today and the subsequent inclusion of this year’s class of hopeful Cinderella teams in the national spotlight, it’s a great time to take a closer look into potential underdogs looking to play spoiler in the tournament, and place some wagers before the games get underway this evening. To start this new week off right, we’re heading to one of our favorite sports betting sites at the Bovada Sportsbook. Staying consistent with the best sportsbooks reviewed here, Bovada has a clean interface for easy betting on your favorite games and match-ups, easy deposit and withdrawal procedures, and friendly customer support. Basketball certainly gets top billing once again for betting on sports on Monday, with a number of conference championships wrapping up and a handful of interesting mid-major teams to watch in play tonight. The best game of the evening will no doubt come out of the West Coast Conference for NCAA hoops, as the Gonzaga Bulldogs face conference arch rival St. Mary’s in yet another rematch of last year’s tournament final, but with St. Mary’s clinching the WCC regular season title from Gonzaga after 11 straight years of conference domination by the Bulldogs. The two teams have split the season series with both sides winning handily on their respective home courts, however in a championship game being played in Las Vegas, we might get to finally see a quality showing from each squad on neutral playing ground. As Gonzaga is just a slight 2 1/2 point favorite tonight, I for one am taking the more tournament-experienced Bulldogs to beat out the Gaels and win the WCC title once again. Make sure to look into other top NCAA conference finals for online sports betting today as a great match-up takes place between Drexel and VCU in the CAA conference, Davidson is worth a look at as they take on West Carolina in the Southern Conference final, and in the MAAC, Loyola (MD) takes on Fairfield in what should be another very close championship game tonight.

Moving over to the pro leagues today, check out 9 contests taking place in the NBA, with a number of top teams in action and doing battle on the hard court. First up, the Los Angeles Clippers hit the road to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves, in an exciting match-up between young talent as Chris Paul and Blake Griffin of the Clippers go toe-to-toe with Ricky Rubio and Kevin Love of the T-Wolves. Los Angeles will seek its first win of the season series with Minnesota, who have bested the Clips in the first two meetings of the year, both at the Staples Center in LA. With the Clippers coming off a tough OT win at Houston yesterday and Minnesota getting rest after a fine performance in a 122-110 win at Portland, this match-up seems to favor Minnesota once again, especially on their home court. Look for Kevin Love to be a key difference in this ballgame as he hasn’t played well against the Clippers thus far on the season, and for the T-Wolves to keep the Clips guessing with their third consecutive loss against them. In another good looking match-up worth checking out the betting lines for, catch a Central division showdown between the Indiana Pacers and the Chicago Bulls, where something simply has to give as both sides have built impressive 6-game winnings streaks coming into tonight’s match-up. The Pacers are one of just two teams to win at Chicago this season, and will be pumped up as they seek their first 7-game winning streak in 8 years’ time, but the Bulls, and especially star point guard Derrick Rose, won’t have forgotten the poor second half performance in the Jan. 25th meeting between these two teams that gave Indiana the last win in this series. With a much improved defensive performance likely to hold down the Pacers wide-range of capable scorers, look for Chicago to edge out a win at home and continue on their winning streak. Catch another big game as the Oklahoma City Thunder take on the Dallas Mavericks in what could be a precursor to a playoff match-up, ¬†as the Thunder try to maintain their NBA-best record at home (15-1) tonight.

To close out today’s foray into online sports betting, we’ll lump in 3 NHL Hockey contests on tap tonight, as the Pittsburgh Penguins host the Phoenix Coyotes in an East vs. West conference clash, the Winnipeg Jets welcome in the Buffalo Sabres, and the Anaheim Ducks battle the Edmonton Oilers at the Honda Center. Pittsburgh has without a doubt played some of the best hockey in the nation at home (20-8-2), and looking for their 6th straight win as they host a Phoenix team that has lost two straight, I’ll take the Pens to emerge victorious and keep their winning streak alive for at least another game. For the Sabres vs. Jets clash, I like Buffalo’s current win streak, capped with a solid 5-3 win over Vancouver during the weekend, and will take them to stand firm in a win over the Jets despite a close affair. Lastly, with Anaheim desperately needing a win to stay relevant in the Western Conference playoff picture, and with Edmonton coming in as one of the weakest road teams in the league and working on 2 straight losses, I’ll take the Ducks to cover the points spread at 1 1/2 goals tonight. Another great start to another great week of sports action and online sports betting, count on Bovada sportsbook to be one of the best online sportsbooks to place your wagers at, and hopefully you can pick up some wins to support a great week full of great wagering opportunities ahead!
