As we reach the midway point in yet another long work week, the action in the NCAA Basketball Conference Tournaments is just starting to heat up, as the final games taking place in mid-major conference championships give way to the first and second rounds of the major conference tournaments getting started. For Wednesday, we have a slew a fun and exciting options for online sports betting, with a grip of 27 College Basketball match-ups, 13 NBA contests lined up, and a pair of games for NHL Hockey fans as Champions League soccer followers as well. Without a doubt you’ll want to pay a visit to one of the top online sports betting sites reviewed here, and jump into the action quickly as the early afternoon games in College Basketball are already getting underway! Taking a trip to Intertops Sportsbook, one of the longest-standing online sports betting destinations in the world, we’ll start with a look over options for betting on NCAA and NBA Basketball this afternoon first and foremost, and see if we can’t score a couple good wagers on the games for NHL Hockey and UEFA Champions League Soccer set up for today as well.
Starting off in the Big East today, the West Virginia Mountaineers and the UConn Huskies are already underway in second round action in New York, however there’s still a couple of great match-ups in the Big East conference tournament well worth a look for wagering on at Intertops today. First off, find a rematch game between #13 Georgetown and Pittsburgh, as the Hoyas will try to pay the Panthers back for the Jan. 28th loss, 72-60 at Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh. Pitt comes in off a solid 14 point drubbing of St. Johns’ yesterday, and has a solid recent record against the Hoyas at 1-5 in the last six meetings, so by no means should the high national ranking for GU point to an outright win here this afternoon. However, with Pitt not having great success in the Big East tournament, and struggling for consistency down the home stretch of the season, I’ll count on the Hoyas to nab a win at Madison Square Garden, with hopefully a much better shooting performance against a scrappy Pitt team. Next up in the Big East, find a very interesting clash as Seton Hall takes on Louisville in what could possibly be another upset game for Rick Pitino’s Cardinals. With Louisville losing three of their last four games to end the season and dropping out of the Top 25 rankings, Seton Hall, dominating winners of last night’s 1st round match-up against Providence, finds itself with a boost of confidence and needing a win tonight to lock in a NCAA tournament bid. I don’t think Seton Hall gets by the Cards tonight, but to make it interesting I’ll take the Pirates to cover the 4 points against the spread as underdogs. Catch one more interesting Big East match-up in play today as Villanova clashes with South Florida, in a game the Bulls must win in order to be considered for the tournament. After beating Nova less than a month ago by 14, expect the Bulls to move on covering the -2 points as favorites here today.
While there’s plenty of other options for online sports betting on conference tournament games today worth checking out, I personally am saving some wagering money for the great line-up of NBA Basketball taking place this evening, especially with a number of high-profile match-ups on the betting lines. First up, catch what should be a scrappy defensive battle between the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers, as Boston looks for its 6th consecutive win and could get help as the Sixers have dropped 8 of their last 10. With Philly desperate tonight and Boston looking to have found good form amongst their veterans, I like the Celtics as underdogs to at least cover the spread at +6.5 points. Next up, find a great contest down South as the Miami Heat host the Atlanta Hawks with LeBron James and company shooting for an 11th straight win on their home court at American Airlines Arena. Atlanta has been doing well without their star shooting guard Joe Johnson, winning 4 of their last 5 without him, but they look to be outmanned tonight in Miami, and thus I have to take the Heat to win this contest at home. That said, a scrappy Atlanta team should muster enough production behind Josh Smith to cover the lofty 11.5 points as underdogs, once again giving sports fans another solid spread wager to follow here today. Catch other interesting NBA match-ups tonight as the San Antonio Spurs bring on the New York Knicks, the Portland Trail Blazers head to Minnesota to battle the Timberwolves, and the Oklahoma City Thunder should prove to be too much for the Phoenix Suns as they try to add to their league-leading home record tonight.
For a few other wagers today, catch a great NHL hockey clash tonight as the Pittsburgh Penguins try for their 7th win in a row in a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, who are once again watching another solid season slip down the tubes. Losers of 8 of their last 10 games and dealing with a new head coach, Toronto is giving up way too many goals to stay competitive, especially against the likes of Pittsburgh, who are 18-4-1 since January 13th. With both these teams looking to score big tonight however, the best wager for the game looks to be on the over/under total goals, sitting at 5.5. I’ll look for a 4-2 or 4-3 game in favor of the Pens to hopefully support an over bet on total goals at Intertops. Lastly for sports betting today, I can’t resist putting a wager down on some UEFA Champions League action, especially with one of the top teams in the world in action, as Barcelona hosts Bayer Leverkusen for the second leg of their Round of 16 showdown. With Barcelona up 3-1 on aggregate and clearly outclassing a Leverkusen side that maintains too much defensive posturing to score many goals against the Spanish powerhouse, look for Barca to secure another win while blanking their German counterparts at Camp Nou tonight. Make sure to check out all these great wagering options at Intertops Sportsbook today, and catch us against tomorrow for even more analysis on the best games available for online sportsbook betting to come.
