Miami Heat Extend Win Streak to 14 Games

Some nights they make it look easy and some nights they end up taking it down to the wire, but at the end of the game, the Heat always seem to be the team with the highest number on the scoreboard.

The Miami heat extended their season-high win steak to 14 games on Sunday with a dramatic 99-93 victory over the Eastern Conference’s second best team – the New York Knicks.

The win was certainly earned, as the Heat battled back from a 16-point deficit to take a one-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. And down the stretch the Heat, and particularly LeBron James, did what they do best – take over.

“We feel like this is one of our better wins of the season, even under the circumstances that we went through tonight, a little adversity being down double digits,” James said, via

James, like his team, rallied. After suffering a leg injury in the third quarter, James came back stronger than ever in the fourth, converting key buckets on the offensive end and orchestrating huge defensive stops. With the score 97-93 in favor of the Heat, James dashed the Knicks’ final comeback attempt when he intercepted a pass and took it the other way for an emphatic slam.

There’s no question that you have to find a way to win games if you are going to be a great team, and that is something the Heat have been able to do during this streak.

“Obviously, it’s great to win games, period. But when you’re on a win streak, you’ve got to find many different ways to win ballgames and we’ve had comebacks in the last seconds, we’ve had double-overtime games, but this was probably the most thrilling one,” Dwyane Wade said. “It was the most challenging. For a team who beat us twice, they handled us twice and they were up 16 in the first half, for us to have the resilience to come back, find a way fight out this win, it was great.”

Miami has led the NBA futures odds all year long and their chances only continue to get better as they continue to win games. They’ve proven they can beat any team on any night in any arena, so betting against the Heat right now would be a bad idea until they cool off, that is if they cool off.
