With all the action of the NCAA Tournament and the NBA going on, we’ve haven’t devoted much time to wagers in the NHL, but rest assured, we’ve been keeping taps on who has been doing what on the ice and we’ll let the warriors of winter take center stage today as we take a look at all nine games in the NHL via our trustworthy quick picks. Check ’em out!
Florida Panthers +1.5 at Toronto Maple Leafs -1.5
The Leafs have experienced some ups and downs in recent weeks, whereas the Panthers have only experienced the downs as victors of just two of their last 10 games. Look for the Leafs to prevail here and cover -1.5.
Montreal Canadiens +1.5 at Pittsburgh Penguins -1.5
As winners of 12 straight, there’s no way we can go against the Penguins today, even against a formidable foe such as Montreal. Take Pittsburgh to cover -1.5 in the win.
New York Islanders +1.5 at Washington Capitals -1.5
These teams match up very evenly with similar records and similar numbers, but the Islanders seem to have the edge with their impressive road record and considering that they have already defeated Washington once earlier this season. Take the Islanders to cover +1.5 and win outright.
Winnipeg Jets+1.5 at Carolina Hurricanes -1.5
The Hurricanes have certainly hit a rough patch, as they are currently riding a five-game losing skid, and things probably won’t get that much easier as they take on a team that already beat them at home once this year in the Winnipeg Jets. Look for the Jets to find more success against the slumping Canes and earn the win, covering +1.5.
New York Rangers +1.5 at Philadelphia Flyers -1.5
Both teams in this match-up have been frustratingly inconsistent all season long. The Rangers seem to have the more talented squad, but they aren’t playing like a cohesive unit at the moment, so go with the Flyers to cover -1.5 here, a team that has played much better on their home ice this year.
Buffalo Sabres +1.5 at Tampa Bay Lightning -1.5
The Lightning, who are currently undergoing a coaching change, seem to be in complete disarray as losers of 11 of their last 15, including their last three. The new coach may provide some wins in the future, but expect Tampa’s struggles to continue as they adapt to new personnel. Take Buffalo to win on the road and cover +1.5.
Edmonton Oilers +1.5 at St. Louis Blues -1.5
St. Louis had dominated the first two meetings between these teams this season and with Edmonton coming into St. Louis with five consecutive losses at the Scottrade Center, don’t expect trends to change today. Take the Blues to cover -1.5 in the win.
Calgary Flames +1.5 at Chicago Blackhawks -1.5
The Blackhawks have cooled off considerably since their record-setting point streak was snapped, but they are still one of the best teams in the NHL and they should have no problem taking care of the Flames at home. Pick Chicago to win and cover -1.5.
Columbus Blue Jackets +1.5 at Vancouver Canucks -1.5
Both teams are coming into this one fairly hot and considering they’ve split the two-game season series so far, this game should be a close one either way. Take Columbus to cover +1.5, but lean towards Vancouver for the home win.
