Dallas visits Kansas City as a Road Dog

The second week of the season has great matchups between San Francisco and Seattle, and Denver and New York. However, one game overlooked by many pit the Dallas Cowboys on the road to face the Kansas City Chiefs.

What makes this game interesting is new Head Coach Andy Reid knows the Cowboys very well after coaching NFC East rivals the Philadelphia Eagles for 14 seasons. During that time, Reid was 17-12 SU against Dallas and 8-7 SU against Tony Romo at the helm for Dallas.

In addition, the Chiefs got off to a fine start with their 28-2 win over Jacksonville in game 1 last week.

Both Dallas and Kansas City are 1-0 SU and ATS after one week. This is the first head-to-head matchup between the teams since 2009.

The early line on most books like sportsbook.com, topbet, Bovada and betonline had the Chiefs as a two-point favorite. That line has increased to 3, with the point total sticking around the 46 mark for the most part since Monday.

Remember to always check live odds up to kickoff and even during the game on Bovada and the other top sportbooks.

The trends going into this game are intriguing. Dallas is 4-14 ATS over their past 18 games that follow a win SU. Dallas 0-4-1 ATS over their past five games played in week 2 of the NFL season.

Kansas City is 2-6 ATS over its past eight games following a win SU. The UNDER has cashed out 17 times over the past 22 games Kansas City has played at home.

Dallas was the benefactor of six turnovers by the New York Giants in game one, returning a fumble and pass interception for touchdowns, but did not win handily. Eli Manning shredded the Dallas secondary. Dallas threw 71% of the time in the game. The Cowboys must add more to their running attack.

The Chiefs used short passes and their running game to beat the Jaguars. Alex Smith was consistent in his first start at quarterback for the Chiefs with two touchdown passes. Defensively, Kansas City had six sacks and should pester Romo all game.

The past three seasons for the Chiefs can be thrown out when trying to pick on this game.

The Cowboys defense is hurt with Morris Claiborne nursing a dislocated shoulder and Anthony Spencer practicing for the first since his knee surgery.

Nevertheless, the Cowboys have the offensive attack to beat Kansas City and will put enough pressure on Smith to upset this game.

Pick: Take the Cowboys and the points as well as the UNDER.
