Steelers host rival Ravens in AFC North Showdown

The Pittsburgh Steelers host the Baltimore Ravens Sunday afternoon in a rivalry of two AFC North teams.

Some NFL rivalries do not live up to all the hype. However, the one between the Ravens and Steelers is not one of them. Regardless of records, the games between the two clubs are hard fought and close.

In eight of the past 10 games during the regular season the two teams have played head to head, the score has been decided by three points. In those games, each team has won five and lost five.

The two teams split their series during the regular season last year, with both teams winning on the road. The Steelers come into the game with a record of 1-4 SU and ATS, while the Ravens are 3-3 SU and ATS.

Even though the season has not yet reached the midpoint, neither team has much room for error going forward. Baltimore trails the first place Cincinnati Bengals by a full game; while Pittsburgh is 2½ games behind the Bengals.

Over recent seasons, the Ravens have played well on the road against the Steelers. Over the past three regular season games at Heinz Field the Ravens are 2-0-1 ATS.

The line currently has Pittsburgh favored by 1.5 points with the point total on 40.5.

The line has remained between 1.5 and 2 in favor of the Steelers, where it opened on Sunday of last week. Just over a week ago, the line on sites like Bovada had Baltimore by 2.5. However, with their first win last week, the Steelers got the attention of some.

This season, the Steelers are 0-2 SU and ATS at home. Overall the Steelers are 7-13-1 ATS since the start of last season. Last week they had a win both SU and ATS.

Including postseason games, four of the past five head-to-head games between the two teams have cashed on the OVER.

Baltimore is 4-2 to the UNDER over the first six games of the season, while Pittsburgh is 3-2 to the UNDER.

Baltimore’s running game is No. 27 in the league averaging only 72 yards a game and just 2.7 yards per carry.
