Cowboys still one of best NFC teams Against the Spread

Week 12 of the NFL is full of great matchups and one is in the mediocre NFC East. The New York Giants hope to keep a consecutive game winning streak intact when they face archrivals the Dallas Cowboys.

New York started out as slow as any team could after six games, as they lost each one. Fans were calling for coaches to be fired and players to be benched. Nevertheless, the Giants pulled things together and have now won four straight games to raise their record to 4-6 SU and ATS.

Dallas has been inconsistent all season thus far. Winning, then losing and then winning again. The Cowboys are a half game behind the first place Philadelphia Eagles and have a record of 5-5 SU and 7-3 ATS.

New York has won their four straight games against teams that were playing second-string quarterbacks. Dallas hopes its bye week will give them the rest they need to come out and make some much-needed changes to the league’s last place defense.

The Cowboys have been just plain bad on defense. Dallas is giving up 456 yards a game, which is dead last in the NFL. The worst was on November 10 against New Orleans when they lost Sean Lee their best linebacker and gave up 40 first downs, a record for the NFL and 625 total yards.

Lee will not play on Sunday nor will Justin Durant another starting linebacker, but Jason Hatcher will be back after missing last week with an injured neck.

Four teams have passed for over 400 yards against the Dallas defense and now they must face Eli Manning for the second time. Manning has not had a great season, but his best effort was against Dallas in Week 1 with 450 yards and 4 touchdowns but New York lost 36-31.

Dallas is 4-1 ATS in their past 5 games following a loss SU. New York is 4-0 ATS over their past 4 games against NFC opponents. The Giants are also 4-1 over the past 5 games overall.

Dallas is 1-6 ATS against teams with a losing record and is 0-4 ATS over their past 4 games played in November.

The UNDER in the past 5 Dallas games is 5-0 after giving up over 30 points the previous game.

The UNDER has cashed 5-1 in the last 6 Cowboys road games against a team with a losing record at home.

The UNDER in the last 16 games for the Giants following a win ATS is 14-2. The UNDER is the past five Giants game is 4-1 in November.

The line has New York as the favorite by 1 point with the over under total on 45.5.

Pick: Dallas 35-31
