Broncos and Seahawks Co-Favorites in Super Bowl Futures

With their latest rout of the New Orleans Saints, the Seattle Seahawks are now co-favorites with the sports books for the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl 48 now has co-favorites to lift the trophy as Seattle joined the Denver Broncos at the head of the class on the futures board for the NFL at many sport books including Bovada and betonline. These new odds came out after the Monday Night rout by Seattle and the win by Denver over the Kansas City Chiefs. The Broncos second win over the Chiefs in two weeks. Both teams have prices of 2 to 1 on topbet and

Seattle looks to be close to unbeatable playing at home. The Seahawks have now won 14 consecutive home games at Century Link field. Seattle also holds a lead of two games with four to play over the No. 2 seed in the NFC for home field advantage for the entire playoffs.

Not many people see the Seahawks losing a home game during the postseason and because of that, it is obvious they have now become the favorites to win the NFC and reach the Super Bowl.

One company for making projections uses statistical methods and using that formula, Seattle has a 43% chance of reaching the Super Bowl, with a 25% of taking home the Vince Lombardi trophy.

The Saints are now trailing Seattle by two games and have to play the Carolina Panthers this week at home. Bovada has the Saints as a 3.5-point favorite for the Sunday Night game.

During its winning streak of 14 games at home, Seattle has not covered in just three games. The three not covered all included double-digit spreads. One of the three was in a game that was for all intents and purposes meaningless in Week 17 of last season versus St. Louis.

As for the chances for Denver in the Super Bowl, sports books are not worried about past performances of Peyton Manning in cold weather situations, as the game is in East Rutherford, New Jersey in February.

Tennessee is expected to be in the 20s on Sunday when Denver visits and that has not influenced bookmakers on their spread in that game.

The Super Bowl is now a pick ’em with the point total at 49.5.
