The NFL’s Final Four is set with the two Conference Championships slated for this Sunday with the early lines having Seattle and Denver favored playing at home.
The Broncos opened as favorites by 6.5 points over New England in AFC Championship, while the Seahawks opened as a 3.5-point favorite over San Francisco for the NFC Championship.
Bookmakers on Bovada, topbet, betonline and sportsbook.com have all had the benefit of seeing the respective championship teams in both conferences play one another at least once during the regular season.
As a short underdog on Bovada, at home, New England defeated Denver 34-31 in Week 12 after trailing 24-0 at halftime. The Seahawks and 49ers split their two head-to-head meetings this season with each winning on their home field, although Seattle’s win was much more convincing.
The AFC matchup will renew the rivalry that has now gone on for more than a decade between Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, two of the finest quarterbacks of their generation. Brady is 10-4 versus Manning. In those 14 games, 12 versus Indianapolis and 2 versus Denver, the Patriots are 7-5-2 ATS.
New England is 2-0 SU and ATS in the two head-to-head meetings against Denver since Manning became a Bronco, but this Sunday will be the first time the teams have played in Denver since Manning joined the Broncos.
On the road this season, New England is 4-4 SU and 2-6 ATS. Denver on the other hand is 8-1 SU as well as 6-3 ATS playing at home. For bettors this season, laying less than 7 with the Broncos at home did not come around often.
By Monday, early money came out for New England and pushed the line to just 5. The point total for the game is 55.
In the NFC Championship, the Seahawks on topbet are favored thanks to such a big advantage playing at home. For some books, playing at CenturyLink field is 4 points for Seattle.
Using that theory, with Seattle a 3.5-point early favorite means the 49ers have a better team, but CenturyLink field is the difference. Based upon that theory, on a neutral site, San Francisco is a favorite by a half-point.
San Francisco has won 8 straight games, but has not played well in Seattle in their past two visits. Last season in Week 16, they lost 42-12 and this past season in Week 2, they lost 29-3. At home, San Francisco defeated Seattle 19-17 in the first week of December
